Elara is the older sister who protects by managing thresholds.

She reads omens, names costs, draws circles, and decides what gets in. She is not unafraid. She is simply practiced at moving first while afraid. When danger comes, Elara does not usually explode. She narrows, steadies, and becomes the doorway everyone else has to pass through.

Elara keeps East, the pale bell-cat born from the Broken Bell's split voice. East is curious, quick, and drawn to beginnings, doors, and the first flicker of trouble.
